My husband and I stayed here for four nights and couldn’t have been happier. The room was nice and cozy with a view to the garden (we stayed in the Niwa room). The entire guest house was private and quiet with lots of birds singing in the morning as well as a number of them that we could see in the garden in the morning. However the best thing about this place is the couple who run it and also the food that they serve for breakfast. They could not have been friendlier or more welcoming and gave us quite a few recommendations about things to do and places to eat dinner or lunch. |Although I am a creature of habit with my usual western breakfast, I could not have been more delighted with the traditional Japanese breakfast they served each morning, which varied a little bit from day to day, and which was incredibly delicious. ||There was never a problem with sharing the restroom facilities which are sufficient and broken up into different rooms so running into other people was not a problem. They are very clean. They also have a big soaking bath which we did not take advantage of.||P and K (the nicknames of the couple) were very helpful with getting us updated train information and keeping us abreast of typhoon related problems before we arrived. On the day we left it was raining and they gave us a ride down to the train station. They had also offered to pick us up although we decided that wasn’t necessary. ||Another one of the great features of this guest house is its proximity to the train station. Once you get closer towards the temples there is more problem with traffic and it’s great to be able to walk to or from the Guest House to the train station if you need to. It’s not very far at all.||All in all we can’t recommend this place enough. It seems a great entry into Japanese hospitality and culture!
