I really had a wonderful time here! I came across this place in the evening while wandering through the empty streets of lovely Nikko (most places close at 6-7pm). I was the only customer inside.
The sushi was excellent and beautifully prepared with a very subtle and fine taste. ( I had the special set) But, what I enjoyed even more was the warm company of the family who run the place.
Even with my fair knowledge of Japan and serviceable Japanese skills, I often feel like a confused alien in Japanese restaurants, but I never felt this way here.
Not only do you get a nice sushi guide in English, but the chef will also kindly guide you and recommend things as you eat.
