Enya — Restaurant in Nikko

Surprisingly good restaurant within walking distance from the Tobu-Nikko station.

While they call themselves a steakhouse, pork, chicken, and fish are also on the menu. For dinner, they also offer a variety of yakitori -- meat and veggies skewers grilled over an open flame.

I had the oyster and clam soup. It was a very rich broth with two raw oysters and an incredible amount of small freshwater clams, called "shijimi," which while small, can be eaten.

The soup and salad portions are big enough to share, although they were very accomadating to me as a single diner. They made the salad as a generous single portion, and they seated me at the next available table, even though it was for four people and I was having lunch by myself.

I can't wait to plan my next dinner here, where I will clearly order every yakitori skewer that they have available.

Another plus is that they have a complete English language menu available.

The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I was a bit concerned with the doneness as they served their steak on a sizzling plate but it was all accounted for snd it was cooked perfectly to my liking

Everything we ordered was great and it did not break the bank. Had a few drinks as well and their soup might be simple but it is hearty and tasty

I asked for the river salmon but it was sold out so I got the local wagyu carpaccio with yuba and it was cleard out immediately. Do pick the regional specialties if you can

Overall, I will eat at this restaurant again if I dropped by Nikko....

Exceptional. We ordered wagyu sirlion, 1 pound steaks, mix burgers, tomato mozzarella salad, onion soup and Camembert ajillo - all was PERFECT Wagyu beef was delicious and camembert ajillo came with slices of bread it was so good. Desserts are apple tart, cheese cake and chocolate cake. Apple and cheese were really good. Chocolate cake is ok. Adding pics.
