A viewpoint that lets you overlook Kinugawa and the surrounding area. The main focus is that you can see the Kinutateiwa Bridge below. Climbing up to the top involved some seriously difficult stairs that wind and turn, the height of each step changing. You should expect to be physically fit to be able to get to the top, but if you do manage to get to the top, you are rewarded with a magnificent view, and a small little deck to pant and sweat and rest before returning back down. There is also a bell at the top, and the tree branches surrounding the observation deck have coins and wishes strung onto them. One thing to note is that the walk from the bridge to the viewpoint is about 15 minutes, but you pass through a dark tunnel that can be scary if you are alone. Read more令和5年10月土曜日訪問。楯岩大吊橋を渡って、徒歩5分くらいですが、途中に電灯が無い真っ暗なトンネルと急階段があるので、それなりの脚力と歩きやすい恰好が必要です。吊り橋にはたくさん人がいましたが、展望台まで登るような物好きはそれほどいないので空いています。途中ですれ違った小中学生は「怖いよ~、怖いよ~」と言いながらうれしそうに歩いていたのでちょっとした冒険にはいいかも。展望台からは吊り橋や温泉街が見えて、なかなかの眺望です。運が良かったのかちょうど「SL大樹」が入線してくる時間でした。(写真が分かりづらいですが中央の跨線橋の手前の林の前です)。地元の人の話によると、住宅街なので煙もスピードも出せない区間だそうで、迫力には欠けますが、動いているSLが見えるとうれしいですね。ホームに入ったら盛んに白い煙をあげて汽笛を鳴らしていました。展望台の上にある「縁結びの鐘」は壊れて...
