毎年５月５日に行われる国府祭の会場の一つ。当日は屋台が立ち並び、非常な賑わいを見せる。また、寒川神社（一ノ宮）・川匂神社（二之宮）・比々多神社（三ノ宮）・前鳥神社（四之宮）・平塚八幡宮（五ノ宮）・六所神社（相模国総社）の御座所になるため、一度に６か所の神社をお参りすることができる。ちなみにお参りをするとそれぞれ趣の異なる菖蒲をもらうことができ、端午の節句のため風呂に入れて（菖蒲湯として）楽しむことができる。
