Okayama City Handayama Botanical Gardens — Attraction in Okayama

Wonderful botanical garden on the side of a hill. We came during cherry blossoms so that was the main attraction. Very picturesque and plenty of places to sit in silence and solitude and just soak in the nature. Note that the time of year you visit will determine what trees/ botanicals are blooming. Not all the areas are in bloom year round. The rose bushes, Japanese maples, and Lily pads were all essentially off exhibit and nothing to look at. But they have English maps and entry fee...

A wonderful place. Sakura was in full swing when we visited, absolutely beautiful! The staff helped us store our suitcases since we stopped there en route to the airport in the afternoon.
