Being in a wheelchair and able to push boundaries quite a bit... This pathway was far to extreme for me to handle so I don't think I can "fairly" rate but I insisted my girlfriend go on ahead and she even found it a tough hike for a "supposed" road. The roads themselves are bit of a climb but the trails to the top are pretty vertical! We found this great little ramen place which was a treat in itself. (near base of the cable car lift) Anyhow... all this being said... we expected to see tons of cats. I didn't see any.. my GF saw 2 after the climb up. I suppose for the able bodied it'd be a great hike to wrap up a day perhaps. I'm sure the view is pretty spectacular once up there but again... not very...

There is a lot of potential. The art that remained was very cute, even if it appeared older.

Perhaps it was different before but now it is quite run down. Don’t be like me and go at dusk. It is full of bugs, humidity, and has an off putting atmosphere. Lots of ruined buildings. I did see a couple of cats despite the summer heat. I’d only venture to visit if it is on the way for you.

I hope they can clean things up a bit so it...

Lovely trail attached to the temple walk. The cat part would take around 15-25mins to casually walk through. When we went there were only one two two cats that we spotted so they seemed to be hidden.

It has a "junkyard" or "homeless" feel to it which is cool, but for how popular this place is, it seems to be underdeveloped. Also I'm beginning to wonder if the cats are really stray or if they are released by an owner to...

As a cat lover, I found surprise and delight around every corner of this hidden gem. There are cats painted and carved into every possible surface - rocks, fences, signs, walls. The small shrine is lovely and we even met a few cats while we were there. The surface can be uneven and a little steep in places so highly recommend wearing sturdy shoes.

Let's face it. The Cat Alley has been somewhat abandoned, and it starts to become worn down to a point of being unhygienic. If you had just visited the Senkoji Temple, it's not too bad an idea to take a quick stroll across the Cat Alley too. But if this is the only destination you are interested in, better adjust your expectation then...

I was upset to see along the trail that a man was keeping many cats in a long cage. They were crying to be let out. The property is called Le Chat and I think he is using the cats crying to attract customers. It is a cruel way to treat cats and spoils the whole experience of the walk.
