Ichibankan Main Store — Restaurant in Onomichi

Highly disappointed of this popular place!! 😥 Arrived yesterday evening around 6pm, walking here from far away. Even though google opening hours say closing time is 19:00, they were already closing and wouldn't accept new customers. Today, again walking all the way here because of a recommendation from my friend, there is a sign at the entrance that they will not open today. Saw a bunch of other visitors looking at their phones and wondering why it's closed... Why aren't you updating your Google listing with updated closing times? This is disrespectful to our time and effort!! So many of us look at google maps to know where to go for dinner and many of us come for nothing when you don't update your information. This Onomichi Ramen is actually Taiwanese Ramen since after WWII many Taiwanese came to Japan Sanyo area for working. They also bring in their taste. 長く行列ができていた為、気になって訪う。

移動手段は自家用車を利用。駐車場は店舗周辺にあるが、利用できる駐車数があまりない為、付近の有料駐車場の使用が必要だろう。この場所なら、尾道市役所に駐めることをお勧めしたい。 または、駅から海岸通りを歩いても、景色を楽しめて良いのではないだろうか。

そして、海岸通りから店舗を目にした際の第一印象としては、クリーム色の箱を思わせる外形で、赤の店頭幕や暖簾を差し色として装飾した目に入りやすい佇まいをしている。 店舗へ一歩足を踏み入れてみれば、細長い通路にカウンター席が並び、作業場を覗いていることだろう。その背中側と奥へ目を向ければ、テーブル席も目に入る。

当時は行列もなかったので、入店するなり声による案内を受けて、即座にカウンター席へ着くことができた。儘、注文した商品は「ラーメン」の「大盛り」。当時の価格で、一杯￥６３０と大盛り分で￥１６０の追加。合わせて￥７９０程であったと思う。 それ以外の商品としては、豊富なメニューで記憶しきれていないが、￥１０００以上の値段で「角煮ラーメン」が看板商品として提示されていたことは記憶に新しい。 味は他店の尾道ラーメンと差は殆ど感じられず、コクの少ないあっさり風味で、スープを飲む際に背脂が舌触りに障るように思えた。ただ、これは個人の好みの問題で、肉脂が苦手な所為もある故に、人によっては印象は変わると思われる。

それとは別に、接客の様子を思い起こしてみれば、厨房を担当しているであろう年配の店員は来店時の挨拶も無愛想であり、学生らしきアルバイトの店員は同年代のアルバイト仲間とのお喋りに興じている印象が強く残っている。 コロナ禍直後かつ昼時から外れている時間帯だったのもあり、気が緩んでいたのだろうと思われる。だが、私を含む数名の利用客がいたので、一つのテーブル拭きに３、４名集っての駄弁を弄しながらの作業は思うところがあった。

以上から総評として、店員全体へ接客対応の一定の教育をお願いしたく感じられた点のみが残念さを覚えた。 それ以外では、旅の話題作りとして訪問先の候補に如何だろうかといったことだろうか。尾道ラーメンの基準の味としての知見を広げ...
