Previously kihachiya Ryokan — Attraction in Sado

明治38年に建てられた旅館です。建築当初は2階建てでしたが、昭和3年に景勝地である矢島経島を眺めるため、3～5階部分を増築しました。中には2階建て当時の屋根が残されています。

現在は消防法の関係で2階から上を見学することができません。 しかし、1階だけでも旅館をしていた頃の帳場や電話室、料理やお酒を上階へ運ぶためのエレベーターなどが残っており、レトロな雰囲気を存分に味わうことができます。

また、1階部分の奥ではカフェが営まれており、濃いめのコーヒーや佐渡の食材を使ったピザ、スイーツを楽しむことができます。

This inn was built in 1905. When originally built, it was a two-story building, but in 1928, the third through fifth floors were added to provide a view of the scenic Yajima Kyojima Island. Inside, the roof from the original two-story structure remains.

Currently, due to fire laws, the second floor and above cannot be visited. However, visitors can fully enjoy the retro atmosphere of the building on the first floor alone, where the bookkeeping and telephone rooms from when the building was an inn, as well as the elevator used to transport food and alcohol to the upper floors, are still in place.
