This place gets crowded at around 7-8pm ish. We arrived just before sunset, and people were already holding out at railings overlooking the city to get a spot for night shots. The view is beautiful, however tourists crowding around may not always be.
There are 2 rope ways. A larger cable car that goes from the bottom to the middle station, then a mini-cable car from the middle station to the top. Round way trips for each were 700yen (for adults). Driving a car from the bottom to the car park at the middle station was 1200yen per car. Depending on the number of your group. Driving a car up to the middle station may come up to be cheaper. The booth/car park at the middle station closes at 2200hrs.

It is popular because of the sightseeing spot of the spectacular view out over the city from an observation deck at the top. We can see a wonderful, colourful and full of beautiful lighting of Sapporo city. The mount Moiwa ropeway climbs from the base of the mountain three quarters up the mountain to a transfer station. Probably it was a weekday but all in all, d experience was definitely surreal. We had a great time chilling away, enjoying the snow. There is an outdoor area that you can walk around too without the hassle of control.
We were free to roam and visit places around the station. From outside to inside and more. We had a blast taking photos everywhere.
The shop also had many different types of souvenirs. Do take ur time shopping around...
