Ehime Prefecture Museum of History and Culture — Attraction in Seiyo

It was great. When I was here, there was a bunch of Sanrio stuff. Maybe it is always like that. My Japanese friends seemed very invested in the Sanrio stuff, but I didn't really get into it. I did learn something--that Hello Kitty is actually a girl in a cat suit, though.

Anyway, then there was the actual history part! I loved it! They have full size models of the houses that Japanese people would have lived in during different periods in history. It was so cool to walk into those home models. The homes also showed the shoes they would wear, the food they would cook, daily items that would be on the shelves. Amazing.

Great museum! There are many life-size replicas to immerse yourself in Japan from primitive times to today's period. You can feel the atmosphere and project yourself into all these eras. There is a QR code to scan to listen to an audio guide from your smartphone. It was so interesting that we took our time and stayed there for an hour and thirty minutes. Wonderful museum! So worth it to visit and to think the entrance fee is cheap, the things you see in there are worth more than that. They made a very good job with the whole exhibit.
