Sendai Tōshōgū is the memorial shrine of Tokugawa Ieyasu in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Five of its buildings, all dating to 1654, have been designated Important Cultural Properties. The torii and gates were damaged in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

The shop offers various kinds of omikuji and omamori, and goshuin and wooden ema are also available, with a very large space available to tie/hang omamori and ema. Rather curiously, the front of the main worship area has a little board that writes how to pray (albeit in Japanese) -- two bows, two claps, and one bow.

A large shrine near Toshogu station (1 stop from Sendai station). You can enjoy quiet atmosphere and good scenery of wooden in heart of town. The stairs are not too high and easy for walking even for eldery. The shrine staffs (miko) are very kind. Please note that Toshogu station is small and have only one platform. Dont be confused to find opposite platform to ride back😂(as I did).
