とんかつ くろみ — Restaurant in Sendai

My friend found とんかつ くろみ (tonkatsu kuromi) while we were visiting the Tohoku region in Japan. We wound up dining here multiple times over the vacation. At the time of writing, it's a small restaurant located just a short walk from Tōshōgū Station (so you can basically take a train there).

We didn't speak great Japanese on our first few visits. However, with Google Translate and the help of one of the staff who had a good understanding of english we didn't have much trouble. We both ordered the ロースカツ (rōsukatsu) set meal which was fantastic. My friend told the two women who run the restaurant how great the food was in very unconventional Japanese. They were delighted to hear that kind of praise!

If you are in the Sendai area, I'd highly recommend visiting. They redefined how we describe とんかつ (tonkatsu) and now we plan to return again on future trips to Japan. Those two running the restaurant were very kind, patient, and...

The Tonkotsu was so nice, everything was so good, portion was big and price is reasonable and atmosphere was really cozy.

とにかく、肉の脂が甘くて美味しかったです。 特筆すべき点はもうホント、コレです！

細長いカウンターの奥に テーブル席が少しある小さめの店舗ですが 綺麗に清掃されていて 店内に脂っぽさはありません。

勿論、調理をされているので 揚げている脂の匂いはしますが そこが気になる人は テーブル席にしてもらう方が良いのかな？とは 思いました。

ランチタイムは キャベツ、具沢山の味噌汁、ご飯が 食べ放題です。 最初っから 多めにー、とか少なめにーと 注文して下さいと注意書きがありましたが

おかわりするつもりだったので そのまま注文しました。

通常の1.５倍の大きさ ビックロースカツ定食1200円(税抜)を 頂きましたが かなりのボリュームで 結局、何もお代わりする事なく 満腹に。

水はカウンターの上にポットがあって カットレモンが入った状態で 置いてあるので 勝手に何度もセルフで入れて 飲みました。

欲を言えば 氷が欲しかったかな。

他の人の口コミに店員さんについて あまり良い事が書かれて無かったのですが ちょっと人見知りするタイプの人なのかな？って 印象で悪いイメージは無かったですよ。
