It is a great place to learn about the history of the area. Also you can also see some of the ruins of the old castle. Also huge parking area . I went by bike.

長篠の戦いで有名な長篠城趾とその史跡保存館です。 武田信玄の息子の武田勝頼が長篠城を攻めた時に籠城していたのが、織田 徳川方の奥平氏。 籠城が長くなり苦戦していた時に岡崎城の徳川家康に援軍を頼みに行ったのが〝鳥居強右衛門（とりい すねえもん）〟。 強右衛門は援軍がもうじきくるぞと伝えに長篠城に戻ろうとするが武田軍に捕らえられてしまいました。武田軍は強右衛門に籠城軍に〝援軍は来ないから諦めろ〟と言わせようとしましたが逆に〝援軍はすぐに来るから頑張れ〟と言ったそうです。 そのおかげで籠城していた奥平軍は援軍を待ち勝利したそうです。 しかし、強右衛門は怒った武田軍に逆さ磔（はりつけ）にされてしまいました。 この勇猛果敢で忠義に厚い鳥居強右衛門の言い伝えがこの史跡館ではよくわかります。 また武田方の資料もあり興味深い展示ですね。

続百名城です❗城郭・櫓は、有りません❗歴史で有名な話では、武田対織田、徳川連合軍の戦い、設楽が原の戦いのお膝元にある🏯です❗3000丁の鉄砲対武田騎馬隊❗この戦いで敗戦した武田勝頼は、滅びへの道をたどってしまいました😱戦いの発端は、徳川家の家臣奥平貞昌城主で500名で籠城。勝頼が攻めて耐えに耐え、設楽が原の戦いへと・・籠城中に鳥居強右衛門が城から抜け出して織田、徳川に援軍を要請しに行き、信長に休んでいけと言われるが一刻でも早くお城に伝えに行きたくて戻る途中で武田方に捕まってしまった😵💧勝頼に援軍は来ないと言えば命助けてやると言われたが、あと一日二日で大軍が援軍としてやってくると言って磔死にされた所のお城ですよ😭資料館220円❗駐車場無料です❗
