What an absolutely wonderful place to visit. This was a real unexpected joy. So glad I visited and was introduced to this inspiring man, Minakata Kumagusu. The museum is presented very well and a 15 minute video presentation with English subtitles enabled me to understand and appreciate all that the museum offered. There are walking trails leading from the museum around the Peninsula Headland as well. However, its exhibits are concise and effectively chronicle the life of Minakata Kumagusu, complemented by multilingual audio guides. The museum is so aesthetically pleasing. It’s so beautiful and very well-maintained. However, you’re not allowed to take photos inside the permanent exhibition room. From the first parking lot to the museum is quite a steep hike. But there’s a second parking lot which is closer, so look out for that.
