Sakuragaoka Park — Attraction in Shiraoi

This off the path park was a fun find. Well maintained, baseball, tennis and pool area. There is a small playground. A beautiful water feature but it was turned off at least in October, try summer months.

Around the corner, off the beaten path is a steep climb up to a small altar/shrine. We heard a gun shot while there and decided to leave even though we knew we were in a no hunting zone. We were more worried about bears as it was late fall. Don't go alone in the forest section or at least take precautions for bears. I would have loved to have explored further, just...
