Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Shizuoka Ekinan — Attraction in Shizuoka

We booked rooms for two adults by mistake, since we have one more kid. We told the front desk that we would like to either pay extra for a bigger room or add one small bed. The staff refused. We understand that the room might be small for adding one. We know that we didn’t pay attention to our booking details and didn’t realized our mistake. It’s our fault and we just want to make it right. We just have to take the small bed and try to accommodate 3. However, as we requested one more pillow, I can’t believe that the staff refused to give one which is so unreasonable. The front desk basically told us that they will NOT provide us any services other than the rooms that we booked. I’ve traveled around the world and have stayed in many hotels. This is the first time that I’ve had such bad experience with a hotel service and have to write a negative review. The staff are very unfriendly. I would even say that they are a bit rude. This modern hotel is well located only around 5 minutes walk from the station. We stayed in a twin non-smoking room which was comfortable, quiet, and quite big compared with other hotels we have used in Japan. It was clean and tidy. |The desk staff were welcoming and provided an easy check-in process. |The bathroom included a generous range of toiletries and free bath salts were available at reception. Reception foyer also had a microwave and water cooler. There were vending machines and laundry facilities on some floors and a 7/11 store at the entrance to the hotel. |Breakfast was not the best we’ve had but OK and included western and Japanese food. It is a tea growing area, so there were several different green teas to choose from and a coffee machine to make your own drinks.|There are plenty of places to eat and shops at the nearby station including Starbucks, a bakery, a 100 yen shop, a department store with a good food hall and...

I was travelling alone and stayed for 3 nights in mid-June. It was only a 5-minute walk from JR Shizuoka station and there was a 7-11 right next to the hotel. It's not a luxury hotel but the amenities offered in room made it a really good value for money. ||||Plus, the room is spacious enough for me to open my baggage for packing and unpacking. If you look at other hotels in Japan at similar price, you can only rent very small rooms in which u can barely open your baggage wide for packing and arranging stuff. ||||In regard to service, the front desk receptionists are very welcoming and speak quite good English (considering Shizuoka is not a popular tourism destination like Hokkaido, Tokyo).||||Tips for ladies: you may rent a Dyson hairdryer at 200yen per night or a hair styler (not sure the price).||||I will definitely travel to Shizuoka prefecture again and hopefully stay here for another...
