Hotel Associa Shizuoka — Hotel in Shizuoka

Highly disappointing experience at Hotel Associa. Check in was odd, no warmth or friendliness from the staff but efficient so not an issue, checkout was beyond cold and rude from a different staff member. The room is well sized for Japan standards but is filthy, has the smell of decades of cigarette smell despite choosing a non smoking room. The bathroom was extremely old fashioned but decently clean. The bedroom was poorly cleaned, dust layers on the fixtures and fittings. Very poor lighting, threadbare carpet and scratchy poor quality bedding, also bedding wasn't properly tucked in. The bed was pushed up against a wall which is a clear sign of a low quality hotel too. No safety processes in the hotel (as experienced in every other hotel in Japan). Anyone can enter the hotel and access guest floors. This is the most expensive hotel in the area so for it to fall this short is shocking. It definitely could not be considered a 4 star, and compared to 3 stars we stayed in in Japan I wouldn't even say its worthy of 3 stars. The hotel services are faultless, with limited English (no their fault), they try to.converse with you to the best of their ability. They are very respectful and attentive to detail. Phone service support are similar.

Hotel is old but well kept and maintained, no odor, no rubbish, everything is spot on. Coin laundry services large space and convenience of online look up for availability, time and duration left with your laundry thru QR code link. Nearby combini is a plus, the location to local JR station and shopping is really remarkable.

Hotel room is unspeakable, corner room with a distant view of Mt Fuji (if weather permits) adn city scape view was amazing at night. Room space is second to none, bathroom with a full size tub and plethora of amenities. Bed firmness and pillows are very comfortable. With the option for eco clean with free gift.

It took me 23,500 yen for the room charge and parking lot. The parking lot is nearby 3 mins walk, but the B1 parking space is way too small for parking. There is no view and no public bath in this hotel, but the location is good due to nearby train station. However, we came here by our own car, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are using car transportation. The environment is clean as common level, but the-all-you-can-eat breakfast at 1st floor is poor management. I need to keep arguing about milk and coffees went out, and the coffee maker was shutting down due to some issue. It looks like the management is poor. Personal not recommend.
