Garyu Park — Attraction in Suzaka

We came here to visit in April 2022 and we were treated to the most beautiful cherry blossom display I have seen.

The park looks gorgeous with the full bloom. On the day we visited, the temperature was quite warm, and the sky was clear blue amd sunny.

We walked around the pond in the middle and I took many pictures of my family and the trees. The mountains in the distance framed the pictures really well with a little snow still on top.

There are many places to grab an icecream or a little snake and the facilities were clean.

A nice park a 20 mins walk from the train station, there's a small lake you can walk around and a couple of trails up the hills a bit to get some views of the mountains. There's also a sweet little shrine on an island, lots of ducks and fish to feed, a few small shops and a zoo (was closed when I was there). Probably an underrated park amongst tourists in Nagano but it is worth stopping by if you're in the vicinity. There's a nice stroll around the lake, on which you can even rent small boats, and a little climbing will bring you in a quiet forest from where you'll have a fair view over the surroundings.
