Chiba Prefectural Tateyama Wild Bird Forest. — Attraction in Tateyama

This is a bird sanctuary next to Awa Shrine. There is a natural history museum and activity hall above the parking lot. Coffee and ( in summer ) ice cream inside. Coffee is self service 100 yen. Corona may have affected availability. Between the building and the trail up the mountain is an open grassy area ideal for picnics, active children, dogs who like to retrieve balls and frisbees, and so on. Ducks and their ducklings quack and sometimes venture outside their fenced in pond at the foot of the hill. A peacock spreads it's feathers and screaches. Frogs add their bullhorns...

A 1990s era visitors center with lots of interactive displays and hands-on activities. Local crafts in the gift shop. A library corner full of Japanese nature books and magazines. And outside are extensive trails up the hill leading to beautiful observation points. Also, birds of you...

とんでもなく広い範囲なので、富士見展望台から国見展望台の2ヶ所を散策。 国見の方は木々で展望がよろしくない。 富士見だけで十分です。 写真参照。

鳥の鳴き声はする物のさっと飛んでゆく姿がチラッと見えただけでした。

道はコンクリートで舗装されてますがかなり坂がきつい。 管理事務所に杖があるのを帰ってから知った。 森を散策する前に寄ったのに、事務所の方も教えてくれればいいのにね(_;)

事務所の中には鳥の声が聞けるコーナーや、木工体験、PC3台で森の事を知るゲームなんかもあったので子供さんは楽しいかも。
