Hanegi Park is only a few minutes walk from Umegaoka station and has around 650 plum trees — both the red and white varieties — to feast your eyes on during this festival.
Settle in for a full day and check out the stalls selling plum-related knick-knacks, food and matcha tea.
There’s also koto instrument performances, haiku classes, tea ceremonies and plant markets.
