Toyohashi City Art Museum — Attraction in Toyohashi

This was such an amazing museum, the first 2 rooms in particular were to die for. That sounds a bit ridiculous to say for a museum, but it was seriously so mind blowing and great. The craftsmanship and artisanal work that these painters have done on their work is sublime. I loved this museum thoroughly, please come here and quietly enjoy these works of real art. Stay 1 night in Toyohashi city and experience this museum, Yoshida Jo castle, and go visit Toyokawa Inari for a quick visit. 企画展「吉田藩誕生！竹谷松平と深溝松平」を観にいきました。これはサブタイトルが示すように関ヶ原の戦いの後に吉田藩を治めた竹谷松平家と深溝松平家についての展示です。 深溝松平家と言えば「家忠日記」で知られる松平家忠が有名ですね。その「家忠日記」ですが展示されていたのは現物ではなくパネル写真でした。何故に？しかし深溝松平家の家宝とも言うべき源為朝の鏃を溶かして造ったと言われている「鎮西為朝公鏃の鑓」を見ることができたのは嬉しかったです。これは深溝松平家の廟所のある本光寺所蔵のものですが、以前本光寺に行った時には見ることができなかったのでこうして見ることができたのは本当に嬉しいです。ただ折角見られたにも関わらず、今回の展示は撮影禁止だったので撮影ができなかったのが残念でした。 2025.９.26
