桜の花の咲く10日間程に行われる神事、「花換え祭」、神社授与所で桜の小枝を初穂料500円で求め、本殿にお参り後花娘に「花換えましょう」の声掛けと同時にお互いの花の小枝を交換、交換毎に福が増すという事で、境内ですれ違う方達と3回程交換、私の声掛けで当初驚く方も、最初お互いに照れますが皆さん交換してくれます。晴天の桜満開に、戦国時代の要塞の地の見晴らし、整備された敦賀湾の眺めと相まって、上からも下からも眺めは抜群です。境内まで続く階段にぼんぼりが並び、大鳥居が目に入ると本殿はその一段奥にあり、本殿前には濃いピンク色の垂れ幕も印象的に、ピンク色の花換祭の名入りの大きな提灯、本殿前の神楽殿も全て満開の桜色に染まったようです。戦国時代合戦が続いた金崎城址に、明治時代に入り当時の男女の出会いの場に一役担い、そんな神事が現代続いているとは不思議ですね。南北朝時代~戦国時代と戦の続いたこの地で福娘と恋愛成就と銘打って、かわいい神事が行われ、今では誰もが幸せを祈るロマンチックな祭事です。この小枝自体が縁結びのお守りとなり、本殿前には幸福祈願恋みくじもあり、金ヶ崎宮のキャラクター香恋ちゃんのかわいいステッカー付きが目を引きます。福娘との花換えは期間中毎日午前10時~午後4時なので、折角です早い時間に訪ねた方が良いです、かわいいお守りや御朱印も頂けます。駐車場(近くの空き地を誘導してくれます)までの戻りに来た方向を見返すと、山腹の満開の桜の間から見える鳥居が帰りを送ってくれて...

金崎宮(かねがさきぐう)。 旧社格は官幣中社。建武中興十五社の一社。

資料によると、 金崎山は、国指定の史跡。中腹に、金崎宮があり、山頂に金ヶ崎城址がある。

当地にあった金ヶ崎城址の麓にある。尊良親王(たかながしんのう)と恒良親王(つねながしんのう)を祭神とする。約1000本のソメイヨシノがあり桜の名所として知られている。4月1日~15日には神事・花換まつりが行われる。天筒山の北面にあり、周辺は金ヶ崎緑地として整備されていて、山麓から本神社を通り山頂に到る遊歩道が整備されている。

尊良親王と恒良親王は、足利尊氏の入京により北陸落ちした新田義貞、および氣比神宮の大宮司に奉じられて金ヶ崎城に入ったが、足利勢との戦いにより敗死した。

明治23年(1890年)、尊良親王を祀る官幣中社金崎宮が金ヶ崎城址に創立された。明治25年(1892年)には恒良親王が合祀され、明治26年(1893年)、現在地に社殿が竣工して遷座した。
