IKEA Yokohama — Attraction in Yokohama

Remember to check the website using Google Chrome for updates on closing times. March 15th, 2020 is the last day the store will be open from 11 am to 8 pm (it should be back to normal hours but to check the website)

This location had a remodel a few months ago and it looks great.

My first visit to IKEA was at this location. They offer great ideas for small Japanese apartments and homes. Everything is very neat and do expect to stay for over 2 hours (I did a record time 40 minutes using the IKEA app prior to arrival)

FYI they have free parking

Shin-yokohama has a shuttle service every 30 min to ikea. It's a little tough getting what you need since everything is in Japanese. However, shop on the online website, make a list and search for the kohoku store, print out your shopping list by item on warehouse shelf and go straight to what you need. If you need it shipped, purchase all your items first, then head over to the delivery section; they don't deliver small glass items seems like either. Translating here is the hard part. But they do deliver and its all by weight/number of items (explained on the website) make sure you get the Date of delivery correct and a good phone number to...

There is a free shuttle bus from Shin Yokohama station. The multilevel parking is spacious and there are available spaces for customers with kids.

It gets crowded during weekends and holidays.

There is a vegetable area wherein you can buy cheap veggies as low as 150yen.

The food area gets crowded around lunch time so it’s better to eat before or after noon time.

Always keep the receipt just in case you want to sell or return the item.

There is an outlet area wherein you can buy used or refurbished items with cheaper price. (But you need to dismantle it by yourself)
