We arrived at Shogetsu in the thick of winter which is probably not the best season to enjoy this Ryokan. Nevertheless , stunning sea views are on display whatever the weather - and both the rooms and dining rooms make sure to take good advantage of them.||Consistent with its high ranking accorded by locals in the Ryokan category, the staff are very courteous and good at their task to make the guests feel welcomed . The Snow Crab dinner feast provides almost too much to eat and will be unforgettable. ||We had one of the nice big rooms with our own onsen whose door that can be opened to face the balcony and to get fresh and crisp air.||The management is smart and thoughtful to offer a photo taking service in the morning for added memories .||Would be curious to return in...

Perfect example of Japanese ryokan style warm and excellent hospitality ||Room: our room was AMAZING!!! We had a view of the sea, dining table, and a massage chair (!) . 2 toilets and 2 wash basins. For the 3 of us. The room can accommodate up to 5 we think. ||Meals : for dinner, it's in room dining where they serve u dinner in the room. Breakfast is in the main hall, with a sea view ||Public bath: there was no bath in the room. The outdoor public onsen is small but very nice, where can feel the sea breeze and listen to the waves. For the private rental bath, they say it can accommodate up to 5, but we think 3 is the max. It's free for 45 mins. ||Arriving well before Sunset means u can shower, hot spring then u can watch the sunset by the sea, which is just...
