Loved this place so much. It is somewhere very beautiful and special with great history. The small island has a tomb where a captain was buried after dying from the plague. It's a magical place. The sea is very cold as it must come from the deep unlike it's neighbouring beaches. The steps down ate step especially when heading back up them. Not ideal unless you are strong to carry young kids up them which I wasn't ! It was worth it though and I guess they keep the crowds out. White sands and almost turquoise sea. Lots of rocks in the water so we picked the clearer middle...
Read moreBeautiful bay but there are a lot of steps so be mindful of that. Also no facilities on the beech like bins or toilets. We observed some local kids leave all their rubbish (which we and others collected) but there is a large bin at the very top so please take it with you.
If you go when it's low tide, you can easily cross to the fort but be warned, there are a lot of pigeons inside and a lot of birds poo on the floor and walls. The rocks are very grippy but the seaweed can...

Best check the tides before going down though, as not much beach when it's high tide. At low tide you can walk over to the island.
