It’s a 3,5 km. long trail which takes around 3 hrs. You will see many breathtaking viewpoints on the way there. Beware! You have to climb many stone stairs leading up the trail.

On the way up we encountered a flock of goats led by shepherd dogs. We made a break at Rajash’s tent. He welcomed us with some sweet bedouin tea and explained us some facts about the bedouin life.

After 10 more minutes we reached the culmination of Al-Khubtha trail - the impressive Treasury viewpoint. Yet another amazing view of the Treasury - the 2 hour walk was worth it! After taking some rest at the viewpoint we headed all the way back the trail to the Royal Tombs and the...

Disappointed. After walking most of the rest of Petra we decided to do this. It’s is very long, which is not my complaint. At the end, to see the “view” you have to go inside a tent. You are obligated to buy a drink from the tent owner. After hours of walking around being harassed at every turn, it was disheartening to see this. The tent has cats, in which we are allergic and could not enter and therefor hours of anticipation and an exhausting climb for the view were a disappointment. But if you like a climb and like cats, this is for you. Half way (at the top of the hill) is a nice view of...

Forget about the lower viewpoints (where locals ask you money to take the picture). This is the real deal, the hike to go up is beautiful and starts right after the royal tombs. It s going to take 30 to 50 mins to arrive to the bedouin tent, where you will find the best view on the Treasure that Petra has to offer. There are few cats around the tent, but even if you re allergic, it shouldn t be a problem. (Im allergic too and i survived :) enjoy the view with a mint tea. I suggest to go in the morning when the sun hits...

100% worth it! A lot of stair though. After reading some reviews here I actually expected worse. Yes, there are many stairs, but just take your time and take some breaks in between, and it’s very much doable. After the gated camp go down to your right and soon you will find the viewpoint you’re looking for. I visit end of January and there was no shop and no need to buy anything. I was mostly by myself taking pictures.

The path starts in front of the Royal Tombs and, after a rather difficult climb, going up hundreds of steps, it ends at the Treasury View Point. The view from here is exceptional! Also, on the route you have very beautiful views, including the theater. The round-trip route is about 3.5 km long and is quite difficult, you need at least 2 hours to complete it round-trip.
