Kailasagiri Park, with its serene atmosphere and unique attractions like the ropeway, toy train, and picturesque viewpoints, is a popular destination for families and tourists, making it a must-visit spot in Visakhapatnam. Situated atop a hill approximately 5 kilometers from Visakhapatnam's city center, Kailasagiri Park is a prominent tourist attraction. The park is accessible by personal vehicles, auto-rickshaws, or a scenic ropeway offering panoramic views of the city and the Bay of Bengal, the park provides well-maintained facilities. The ropeway journey is short (5-7 minutes), the round-trip fare of ₹150 per person might seem somewhat expensive. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains, the city, and the coastline from designated viewpoints. A toy train operates within the park, offering a delightful ride to explore the area. The toy train ticket price is ₹120 per person. However, its operation is typically limited to weekends and when more crowd is gathered. On weekdays, a minimum of 30 passengers is required for the train to commence, which may be inconvenient for smaller groups. The park also features a children's play area, an amusement park showcasing wax statues and robotic displays of animals and people, and a Titanic viewpoint. For the best experience, visitors are advised to plan their visit between 3 PM and 4 PM to enjoy both daytime and evening views of the city. Though the park has a restaurant, but it is advisable to avoid it due to high prices, poor food quality, and unsatisfactory hygiene. Snack options are available but should be chosen with caution. However free car parking is provided for the visitors.

Kailasagiri Park has a wonderful atmosphere and the views of the Bay of Bengal are truly beautiful. The cable car ride is enjoyable and the Shiva-Parvathi statues are impressive. The walking spaces are nice too, and you’ll often find locals enjoying the peaceful surroundings. However, the experience is let down by poor attractions inside the park. Right at the entrance, there’s a so-called “9D cinema” that charges ₹100 per person — honestly, it was hopeless. The picture quality and facilities felt stuck in the 1990s, making it a total waste of money. We regretted not spending that amount on the sketch artist inside, who was offering his work for ₹300 and actually seemed worth supporting. Overall, it’s an “ok” place. Don’t expect it to be a major tourist attraction — think of it more as a walking park with good views for locals and casual visitors. Visit for the scenery, cable car, and statues, but avoid the gimmicks like the 9D cinema.

One of the famous places in Vizag city. The beauty of the place is view points which gives bird eye view feel of both the city and Bay of Bengal. Children can enjoy the park and pleasent atmosphere. Right time to visit this place is 3pm to 4pm and you can spend 2 to 3 hours here. Thus you can have both day view and night view of city. Special attraction are being you train, Amusement park with wax statutes with robotic features to give you a feel of real animals and people. Also, there is an observatory which is not having access to people. Titanic view point is a special attraction. Rope way is another attraction which generally you will not find else where in AP and may be you can find in very few places in India.

Great experience. Provides a complete overview of the city including its enormous hills and the beach. Public/private transport only goes upto a point from where you've to either take a ropeway to climb the hill top or book a car that encircles the mountain and goes upto the top, both giving you and amazing view. No entry ticket required for the park. Although for ropeway, toy train and other activities inside the park, one has to buy separate tickets with different price for adults and...
