Ysyk-Köl Historical-Culture Museum — Attraction in Cholpon-Ata

Dropped in for a little review of Kyrgyzstan culture and luckily joined a group whith a 5* guide Asel (in Russian). After a 1,5 hour tour we fall in love with Kyrgyzstan and its culture! Asel was brilliant! She told us a lot of interesting about history and culture of the region of Issyk-kul, and generally of all the country. We didn't want to leave - ready to listen more and more! Without a tour the exsibition could seam less conclusive. It cost us 100s extra but I would've payed 500! It worth...

If you get this far then you need to take a look at this museum which is jam packed with stuff. Slightly difficult to follow all of it as there are few English translations but just take a look at the pictures I posted. And of course if you have got this far then congratulations to you for your perseverance and di you go and see the Petrographs...

Achtung Betrug! Eigentlich ein nettes, kleines Museum. Man benotigt ca. 30 Minuten um alles zu sehen. Bis zur Hälfte sind die Exponate auch noch mit Englisch beschriftet, dann nur noch in Kirgisisch und Russisch. Der Eintritt kostete 80 SOM, als wir zur Häfte durch waren kam plötzliche eine sehr unfreundliche Frau um die Ecke, die plötzlich meinte, fotografieren kostet 50 SOM extra. Davon stand nichts an der Kassen, es gab keinen Hinweis wir wurden an der Kasse auch nicht darauf hin gewiesen. Meine Freundin, welche aus diesem Land kommt, meinte, dass sei, weil ich Europäerin bin und das stecken die sich in die eigene Tasche. Als meine Freundin mit der Frau diskutiert hat, wurde diese noch unfreundlicher. Leider hatten wir keinen männlichen Begleiter, sonst hätte die Frau das wohl nicht gemacht. Also kann man sich ansehen, muss man aber nicht. Das Museum in Bischkek war...
