No one came to take our order for 20 mins. When we were ordering the waitress went to check if a particular dish was available and came back and confirmed that it was. After we ordered and she punched it in, she came and informed us that the dish was actually not available and tried to get us to order a large banquet dish. We instead asked to cancel the sashlik we ordered and get a mixed platter that included shashliks. She said this was not possible since she had already put in the shashlik order. She then said some of the mixed grill items were missing and I said to adjust it with the shashlik order. The mixed platter came after over a half hour and there only 4 types of kebabs in it, and most of it was chicken. When the bill came, we saw that she had not cancelled the previous shashlik order and had doubled the shashlik order that we had initially put in. She told us that the shashlik order had been incorporated into the mixed grill items. We tried to explain that we had only received four types of kebab even though she said the mixed grill had five types and she added another variety. After a lot of back and forth we paid the full amount with the included 15% service charge. On top of that the food was not worth it at all, the meats were all really chewy and dry. Even ignoring the above issues, the service was terrible, some of our party was missing silverware and glasses. I cannot emphasize enough how terrible the experience was and strongly recommend trying out any other place in the area. Everyone in Kyrgyzstan has been very welcoming and helpful, which is why this experience stuck...
Read moreOne of the worst places I’ve been to in a very long time!
We went to this place at around 15:00 to have lunch. When we arrived majority of tables were not cleaned after previous customers and were never cleaned while we were in the restaurant, so we were seated next to two dirty tables. In addition, our table had several different cutlery items missing. We waited for 10 min for a waiter to notice us and bring menus and than take the orders. Then she brought 6 beer glasses (it was 5 of us and only two ordered beer) which we had to send back as all of them were dirty with fingerprints all other the glass. She mixed our drinks order 3 times, bringing wrong drinks or forgetting to bring the ones we did order. We waited 55 minutes for the food to finally start arriving! And let me tell you, it was subpar at best. It was not our first meal in Kyrgyzstan, but it was definitely our worst. I would recommend to avoid this place...
Read moreIt was a pleasant surprise to stumble across this restaurant on the main street of the town. It's by far the most modern restaurant/bar that Cholpon Ata has to offer- the wifi was strong and the air con was very welcome. Generally speaking I found Cholpon Ata to be quite a grim place with very few options, so it was nice to find somewhere decent.
The menu was large, but a few items were unavailable on the day (including rice). We opted for a chicken shashlick and a beef sizzling dish and both were average, but more than acceptable. The cocktail/drinks menu was decent (although the cocktails themselves were not of a great standard).
Service was fine, and some of the staff spoke English (which was...
