This museum is definitely worth a visit if you are in Panevezys. The building itself is worth seeing.
Spread over 4 floors the museum is well laid out and curated.
On the top floor you find an exhibition of ancient fossils, stuffed animals and birds, creepy insects and beautiful butterflies. Unfortunately none of the information on the top floor is in English.
In the basement is a exhibition called Red Terror. This is a really interesting presentation of what happened to a number of residents of the town at the hands of the Soviets. The exhibition is very dark (a necessary part of the ambiance) so it is quite difficult to read the information presented.
