MIRI - SARAWAK - EAST MALAYSIA
MIRI airport NEWLY RENEWED AIRPORT however its doesn't have public transit access. You may can choose by airport taxi or Grab service. A better option is to take a Garb taxi a cheaper ride.
There are not many flights, so lines are short. Note that after security checks, you need to be inspected by immigration officer, even for domestic flights.
The single waiting lounge has a perfume shop, souvenir shop, Famous Amos sweets shop, and The Coffee Bean cafe, along with toilets, paid massage chairs, and the Executive Lounge.
There are more extensive food and shopping options before security. I was not able to connect to the only unsecured Wi-Fi network; it's not clear if it's intended for passengers or not. You might be able to use The Coffee Bean's connection if you buy something and ask nicely?
Otherwise, you'll need a data plan or to pay for lounge access.
Note: Sarawak and Sabah maintain immigration autonomy. If you received an arrival slip at the immigration counter on arrival in Sarawak from elsewhere in Malaysia, return the slip to the officer when you pass through departure immigration; For foreign passport holders, the officers will stamp your passport when you pass through the arrival and departure immigration. For all other international flights, the usual departure immigration...

Read moreAbout 1% international flight departures (singapore) with the rest taking domestic flights Air asia, Mas and Mas wings. Not a big airport and in my opinion, a just perfect size where we can walk and reach the gate within minutes. Building is relatively new, clean washrooms and not too many shops such as sim card shop, atms, gift shop, convenience store and eateries. This includes a lovely bakery, boost juice, starbucks and marrybrown. Marrybrown seems unprepared to handle too many customers as ALL their burgers sold out before 530pm the day of my flight. I believe these were those still operating as some eateries did not reopen after the pandemic. Mas check in was okay but Air asia might take some time in the queue. In the departure gate, seats may be insufficient due to full flights departing together but i think the seats are comfortably okay. Took a while to place the luggage on the baggage conveyor when we arrived here so we had to be patient. Also, we could use the aerobridge, no need to walk across the tarmac for air asia flights. Overall, a pleasant experience here and...
