Bird watching tip: Came here specifically for the Blue-naped parrot. Tanjong Aru is the only place in Borneo that has this bird. A small population exists here thanks to Quentin Philipps, author of Philipps’ Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo who in the early 70s released some blue-naped parrots that were being sold at a market in Kota Kinabalu. Fast forward to 2022 and we have our own beautiful resident parrots here at Tanjung Aru Beach. Other birds spotted: Imperial Green Pigeon, long-Tailed Parakeet, zebra dove, and collared kingfisher

It's a good place but unfortunately not well maintain. Ponds overgrown with tall grass ,creepers and some surrounding areas. Should work out a solution as to how to overcome the stench smell of spent cooking oil from the food stalls in the drains. Rusting metals potruding from areas around the park. Could easily pierce your shoes or sandals. Dangerous especially to children. For now I would personally rate the place with a 2star. Hopefully the local authorities concerned would look to improve the area.

Loved the park. Plenty of beautiful and loud birds, such as blue-naped parrots, pied trillers, parakeets, munias, Asian glossy starlings, green imperial pigeons, and more. Its truly a birdwatcher's paradise. When we were there, the restrooms didn't work. The long stretch of sandy beach, clean and tranquil.

Prince Philip Park is Located at Tanjung Aru Beach Kota Kinabalu , it's called Second Beach.

Prince Philip Park is a good place to relax after a long busy day. Very Good place for family activities. Stunning views of green and sea. Children will enjoy beach activities building sand castle and other games.

An awesome place for mild exercise such as Brisk walk, jogging, run, yoga etc. Or you can just sit here enjoying the view of the sea, beach, kids playing, green plants, away from busy roads. Stalls are just nearby to enjoy variety of foods, fruit and drinks. They sell seafood, local fruit, fancy fruit juice, heavy foods, tidbits, fresh coconut, roasted corn🌽 and many more.

Many vendor are selling hot and cold food and drinks. Open table are everywhere where people can sit and enjoy their food quietly with the great view of the sea.

This is a place for fun and get together activities for family, various company or...
