Dataran Penggaram Batu Pahat — Attraction in Johor

Dataran Penggaram Batu Pahat is 100 years old. It is beside Jalan Pejabat and Jalan Masjid. Off Jalan Rahmat, Batu Pahat. Johor, Malaysia. It is Government property. We will have free Wi-Fi in the vicinity. In the early days all the padang fields are small lakes. The lakes are demolished to make football fields, stadiums and Governments offices. Penggaram Square holds a lot of good citizens activities around the years. Early years they have political debates and that was fifty years ago. Then they had Religious competitions. They held events such as morning and night markets. And all kinds of sports activities. And the sport club and sport office are here too. They held Hari Raya sales at night during the festive season. And sales bulan Puasa fasting and Buka food and beverage stalls during the fasting month every year. They organise events for the young people at school holidays. Night time is always crowded with people who plays soccer and social events and sports. Night time the trees litted with neon glittering bulbs. The padang field is alive with the activities at night and brightly and colourful lighted. In the centre of padang is a beautiful big fountain. Water dancing as the light shine at different angles. On the middle of fountain is a stone hand chisels a rock with a hammer. That is where Batu Pahat gets her name. In front of the Square is the Police station. Very good place for spending time with family. Came during the night and there were a lot of toys sold there, food stalls as well as tshirts are sold there too. If you are looking for very easy place to buy a souvenir (like Batu Pahat - printed shirt), here is the place. There are restaurant nearby in case u get hungry. There are paid public restroom.
