Made a quick stop during our trip randomly coz we say the nice building.
Lovely interiors, appreciate that they emphasised on the structure of the building. We came around 11.45 - 12pm. Not so packed but by the time we wanna leave , the other tables are filled with customers.
Great music of choice - i was amused by the folklore musics aired during our mealtime. Not too loud, just nice.
Toilet is clean as well.
Food : Nasi ayam hainan - loveee the ginger and sambal on the side. Soup is bland, with aromatic rice. Chicken is served with slightly salty soy gravy, overall taste improved when eaten together.
Chicken chop is considered big portion for the price. A steal indeed.
My husband had nasi lemak with kari ayam banjir - he liked it as well.
Drinks: We both had kopi ais. Super kawww ! Loved it. Not too sweet. Strong coffee taste. We didn’t expect this as we always get disappointed with overpriced lattes in other cafes. Good job.
Service: They charge 10% service charge in your bill but tbh WE DON’T MIND AT ALL. Our server (i feel bad I can’t recall her name. A petite malay girl).. she is so attentive. She even stopped my husband when he was about to stand up to get tissues for me. She also checked on us to see if we need anything/ if we wanna add anything. She also made sure we enjoyed our meals.
We were served with fruits FOC upon finishing our meals. Had always loved gestures like this. Fruits are freshly cut. Not sure if this is the common practice on daily basis or on less busy days. But great job from the team serving us on Sunday (6/11/22)
Recommended this shop to my relatives and friends. Defo will come again if we’re passing through BP for any...
Read moreToday, I went to Kafe Kiri Kanan with my family and both the food and service was perfect here. I cannot express how well this restaurant is and I hope I can visit here once again. Firstly, the food here is a masterpiece. We ordered a lot of food and they were a gastronomical ecstasy. They were fulfilling and nutritious. After eating our lunch here, not only were our stomachs full but our hearts too. Secondly, the service here was terrific. Not only was the preparation of the food quick and fast but the waitresses are also very polite. What sets them from an normal restaurant is that I did not know how to speak Malay but the young waitress could speak different languages. This was very surprising as throughout all the restaurants I have sat in, this was the only restaurant that had multilingual waitresses. Thirdly, the environment here very lively. The restaurant played different traditional songs and the decorations were colourful and bright. This made me feel like a time traveler travelling throughout time and ending up here. So beautiful! Last but not least, I would like to thank this restaurant for their unwavering efforts in keeping this restaurant in such a good...
Read moreWe ordered: Happy Mix Tempura Fish & Chicken Chop set, Nyonya sweet and spicy pineapple asam fish with white rice, and Nyonya sotong nakal with Hainanese rice. The fish and chicken chop meal came with French fries and some coleslaw. The fries were crispy and good. However, fish wasn't fresh from appearance, smell and taste. The fish's batter tasted similar to fish fingers frozen batter. The chicken chop was just average. As for Nyonya sotong, I couldn't distinguish sambal sauce sotong base from this supposedly Nyonya sotong. The Hainanese rice tasted like plain rice cooked with chicken stock (i.e., not Hainanese). Finally, asam fish also didn't taste like Nyonya's cooking, i.e., complex sauce, spice and aroma. The asam sauce was too plain. This asam fish wasn't spicy and the portion was small. We noticed that all our dishes were not hot (temperature). The menu is quite pricey for below average standards. I wouldn't recommend...
