Kay Event & Patisserie — Attraction in Kuala Lumpur

Would highly NOT recommend this vendor. We ordered their sliders for an event last week and it was a very unpleasant experience.

They were unresponsive since we paid them. The days leading up to the event we wanted to arrange the delivery time and arrange for it to be picked up but they did not respond to confirm the timing.

On the day of the event we called them a total of ATLEAST 50 times and they did not even bother answering the phone or replying our text. Mind you this was on the day of the event and we were 100% convinced that we were scammed.

As they were supposed to be one of our main food vendors for the event, we had to resort in ordering McDonald’s due to them not replying us hours before our event.

We finally got a call back from them at about 4pm, truly epic as that was the time our event starts which we mentioned to them. We told them not to bother to send it as we had already replaced it with McDonalds since we did not get any response from them up until our event started.

Totally no service recovery whatsoever was done and we are super disappointed with their service. Perhaps they felt that our order was small hence why they did not put in any effort at all. The only thing that was more disappointing than their service was the size of their sliders (picture on their website was DEFINITELY used for illustration purposes only)

Understand your delivery timing but do you not have the accountability to reply to calls and messages not only on the day of the event but the DAYS that lead up to the event? This “miscommunication” could have been avoided if you had any decency to reply.

We intended to save your time and have it collected instead but you did not reply at all to discuss about the arrangements. If a customer calls you more than 10 times don’t you think it is something important that should have been attended to? Like I said maybe you felt it was a small order which is why you neglected this in the first place.

On the sliders, my bad for not clarifying. I was not comparing the size of it to 1 McD burger, altho we did cut one McD burger into 4 pieces and it was still much bigger but the patties in your burger was way smaller than the one on your website ( I wish we had time to take a picture of your burger but unfortunately it came late).

And no your respond did not clarify my frustration but it is okay as we have learned our lessons and hope that you accept this feedback on your communication skills for improvement as I do see several reviews below mentioning...

My experience with Kay Event & Patisserie can best be described as a breath of fresh air. From start to finish, their team demonstrated exceptional punctuality, professionalism, and courtesy.

On the day of the event, I was delayed due to the need to collect an additional menu item from a separate location. While still en route from Kuala Lumpur to Petaling Jaya, I received an update from the person-in-charge informing me that he had already arrived at the venue and had begun setting up and decorating. I was genuinely impressed by their level of proactiveness—they did not wait for my arrival or require further instructions to proceed.

By the time I reached the venue, the buffet setup was nearly complete, with only final touches pending. Their initiative and efficiency ensured that everything was in place well ahead of schedule, allowing the event to run seamlessly.

A special thanks to Din and Pronay for their exemplary service. I will certainly be engaging Kay Event & Patisserie again...

The team at Kay Event and Patisserie are extremely professional and a pleasure to engage for events (big or small scale)! I was unfortunate to get a caterer cancel on me just three days before my event, but call it a blessing in disguise, the team at Kay Event saved the day for me! They were really helpful and walked me through the steps and confirmation quite quickly - taking note of my needs and adjusting my menu and setup accordingly. What I loved the most was the team’s meticulous attention to details - flowers were on point, food was fresh/ visually pleasing and lastly their love for what they do can be seen when they delicately packed leftover food nicely into containers so nothing goes to waste.

I rarely write reviews but for a team this good, it’ll be a shame not to give them the encouragement and thanks...
