Great if you like non stop water park action, it's like Sunway Lagoon but smaller and easy to access everything. Perfect for kids! And you spend all day in a swimsuit / beach attire, you'll have Very little laundry to do 😜
unfortunately this holiday is not very elderly friendly. There are a lot of slippery surfaces and kids and even adults slip and fall around us many times of the day. Falling is the worst thing for the elderly so I strongly discourage elderly who do not have an athletic body and accident recovery ability. Minus 1 star ⭐
The density of people after Chinese new Year 2024 (it was day 3 and day 4 of CNY) was just so high - just too many people. The hot springs were not hot, and because of the large number of people all the time, hygiene was very bad.
there is very little sit down and eating places especially after 5:30pm. At the day time canteen / hawker center, there were flies everywhere especially at the sit down eating area where they turned off the big fans at 5:30pm when last order was supposed to be "until 6pm". when I requested for the one and only fan to be turned on - there were still a lot of people, tables were almost half full at 5:30pm - they bugrudgingly agreed, and then very soon at around 5:40pm they turned it off again. The flies were unbearable and disgusting. I just could not eat my food and threw them away still hungry and walked away. So they could cleanup and leave before 6pm. Minus 1 star ⭐
There are rentable air cond camps especially for babies and families but oversubscribed and you need to pay in advance / limited availability.
The street "food" available after 6pm is extremely over priced, no nutrituous real food, and there are just not enough places to sit down. There was a long but moving line to pay - centralised payment like hawker center - and then you would need to pass your receipt to the hawker / food center before they prepare your food. The satay was discouraged purchase by the cashier and as we sat eating our other "food" nearby, we noticed it took about 15min for each satay order to complete, which in the larger scheme of things is a worth while wait because there was not much else to eat anywhere else. Minus 1 star ⭐
Most people were sitting on the low wall edge of the water pools, where food and drink can very easily fall into the water areas creating and unavoidable mess and potential closure. It was a miracle nothing happened in the two days we were there. 😱😱😱
The layout was smaller than Sunway Lagoon and everything was closer and more accessible - definitely fun for all water park lovers! ♥️
The night fire show was excellent - those guys really know how to make things exciting and fun for all park goers! Well done! 🔥
Ok CNY Day3 (Monday) after 6pm, there were such a long line for prepaid ticket purchasers, and then after like 45-50 minutes in line, conditions for registration were made known - must have every family member mykad - even though 1 person can wait in line at a time. All this would have been useful at the start not end of the line. Worst of all, verbal disclaimers were made by the office attendant before tickets were handed over to purchaser. For example, in case of bas weather etc tickets are not refundable. Blah blah blah .. what a crappy start to a long drawn out "exciting" family holiday. Minus 1 star ⭐
unless you have NO elderlies and a car full - or more - of kids who love water parks - don't even bother with this...
Read moreThe night session at the lost world consists of two main attractions: the pools ( some with hot springs) and spas. Of course there would be the night shows and also the petting zoo with the luminous forest, but the games and theme park would be closed during the night session . Why oh why! Just open the merry go round lah wey. Other than that you'll be treated the same with tight lipped sour faces staffs and getting food from them is like begging to be served, you actually are stopping them from leaving from work early (kukuntalu hawkers, I am looking at cha). People are hungry, the Kukuntalu hawkers have the most decent and filling food for the night session, but they close at SEVEN PM while the night park starts at SIX. Brilliant, eh Sunway? The other food are not bad, but if you are ten years old, some niblets and finger foods , ok maybe I should just be resolved dinner food are those hotdogs and kerepok lekor. Oh wait, there's mee curry. Ok moving on..
The night time are really for relaxing, wind up in the hot springs with different intensity of heat in separate pools. Spas for the ladies and gentlemen who fancy leaving their kids in the dark scrambling for non friendly petting pets who bite (except the rabbits. They're ok. I tried) or head on to the lovers delight at the luminous forest, I worry too much but it is dark out but one good thing the staffs are all over, standing as a tree watching you while you can't spot them which is not too bad because they're not smiley people anyway. Giraffes and elephants would be sleeping, so you're left with the weird arrangement of time zones for animals that can be seen now or never. Oh please if Sunway management reads this, please open up more toilet yonder away from the main place. It's far and there slot of kids, and water... Good thing it's...
Read moreLost of Tambun is a theme park that you can visit either in the day or night. The day versio. focuses more on water theme park and wildlife, while the night version more on the hot springs.
Some parts of the park are open for both day and night, while some are only open for one portion. The day rates are slightly higher than the night, and non-locals are charged a higher rate.
Visited the park for both the day and night portions.
I am quite impressed with the wildlife portion of the day, as there are many different animals you can see up close. It feels like the park is more of a zoo than a theme park. The petting zoo, the hippo enclosure, the tiger exhibit and the Catopia are the most impressive.
Strongly recommend the private tiger tour that happens around 1 to 2pm as it allows you to see the tigers up close and its very worth it for 20 dollars. The Catopia, which is like a cat cafe where you can get close to the cats for free, is also quite impressive.
The water theme park portion however is average at best. The lazy river is littered with leaves and looks dirty while the wave pool and slides are just okay.
The hot springs section at night feels a lot newer and well maintained, and the lighting gives it a very unique feeling. It's not something that you can find in other theme parks.
There is also an adventure park and glamping opportunity here. The amusement park and the only roller coaster are only average.
In summary, Lost World of Tambun feels like it's trying to do a lot of things at the same time. The wildlife and hot spring part is nice, while the water theme park and amusement park are just average. Still worth a visit though, if you know what to expect.
