"Mount Santubong" semestinya menjadi tumpuan / target setiap hikers kan? Yes, then sy dh dgr berpuluh kali juga org kata Gunung Santubong ni bkn utk sesiapa sahaja, sbb trails sgt mencabar, lagi2 utk yg beginner. I am a beginner too & kat sini la teamwork tu penting utk merealisasikan impian kita smpai ke puncak.

Thanks to my humble team, u guys are awesome , i must say! Some of us may seem to be with the slow pace, but we never leave anyone behind. We Leave No Men Behind! Be the ONLY GIRL in the group may seem crazy and make me feel hesitates for a while, and doubt myself should i or could i make it to the top? What if i become the major cause for our team & delay the pace to reach the top? While i am doubting myself, all of u keep on motivate me & strengthen me.

Thank you Ahmad Zahiruddin Petrus Rabong Aliff Farhi Amien Aziz Ammar Afi K Nizam Selamat for trusting organizer yg x berapa nak organize ni ....

Incredible and fun jungle hiking. Itโ€™s steep, very steep and you need an intermediate fitness level to achieve the summit, cause there are points where you need to use ropes and ladders. Be aware of rain because could get slippery but overall achievable. Bring water! You will need it, trust me in this one, 2l per person.

The main entrance opens at 8:00 and I suggest DO NOT start later than 8:30. If you want to enjoy the hike, do some stops and have a snack in the summit or in F13 (there is a nice table) allow at least 8 hours return, even more if you would like to take pictures.

The track starting from the main entrance is a bit longer. But you register yourself in the office, you get a map and you will pass some waterfalls, at the time I was there entrance fee was not required (August 2019). In the way back if you donโ€™t want to go back to the office you can take the shortcut (marked on the map). But please call the office to acknowledge them that you finished safe...

Beautiful place. Many years ago we camp over 5 days at mid point next to the waterfall during off peak season - no guide. Awsome experience with my cousins and a good friend. We ran out of food thus we have to head down on the 6 day morning. We took our time to reached the peak by a team of 2 and 3 on two separate occasion over that 5 days. We have no rush as our initial plan was to stay for 7 days. During that period of time, there's less source of water only tiny puddles found - We ran out of water when we reached the top. We also hike up the waterfall trails from the mid point all the way up to a dead end of the waterfall wall, easily over 30ft vertical. Plenty of flora and fauna to be discovered. You will be amazed even the frogs look very fascinating and so colourful. At night the natural musical sound sometimes gave us a creep - Lol. Nevertheless if you love the nature try campaign. Avoid horror movies months before you decide to...

pretty challenging trail. now i get why people often said Santubong is more difficult compared with Kinabalu some tips; - not for beginners or first time hikers. you just won't make it past first 500 meters lol. let alone to the summit where elevation got steeper - get there early, 7.30-7m45 am to get your slot during the weekend. they only allow 100 hikers per day - enough hydration. I'd recommend 2 large bottles per person. preferably 1L isotonic 1L mineral water. bring snacks, foods as needed - recommended to use hiking gloves. you'll be using your hands as much as your feet i tell you. you'll be climbing half of the time. hence using hands to grab rope, roots, stones etc - use good hiking shoes. hiking sandals are not allowed. i used mine when i arrived at summit coz my feet are hurting from the shoes

believe in your google maps direction :), it's easy to miss the sign. (+) great for a day easy trek, free entrance (-) abit upset of the waterfalls even I went there when there were alot of rain almost everyday- April didn't see any animal instead of some frogs and dragonflies but a couple saw a green snake and they said it's so so so beautiful. have your hat, long sleeve clothes and hiking socks on , leeches are around in rain season. the waterfal in blue trail seems like a popular place for kids. so nice to see they play with water, reminds me alot to my childhood :) Please bring lots of water and don't litter
