Escobar (Escobeach) — Restaurant in Sarawak

Escobar, located right on the corner of Damai Central next to 7-Eleven, offers a stunning view that’s hard to beat. However, it’s surprising to see the restaurant empty, with only my girlfriend and me there on a Friday lunch hour. We particularly enjoyed their special fruit concoction beer. This place is definitely Instagram-worthy, overlooking the South China Sea. During low tide, the receding water reveals the exposed stones along the long beach shoreline. The air conditioning and cold beer are perfect for staying cool under the blazing sun.

To attract more patrons, the restaurant could benefit from playing music outdoors, as it would draw attention from passersby like us who initially had difficulty locating the spot. Additionally, a reception counter facing the row towards 7-Eleven could help capture traffic and make the entrance more welcoming. While I understand that the flower beds and grass are maintained by Damai Central management, the restaurant owner could consider enhancing the outdoor area. The Escobar banner and signboard are currently obscured by yellowing and aging plants, which could be refreshed to make the restaurant...

There were outside and inside sitting area. There was one big table around 8 people inside the restaurant when we got there. Other tables were loaded with various stock on it. It was pretty messy. So we decided to sit outside.

Unfortunately, outside sitting area has many stray cats sitting on the chairs and couch, one of it jumped on my mother's lap to snatch food!

Throughout our time dining at the restaurant, the manager/owner had been pointing and complaining the staffs and smoking non-stop that I had to make known to the staff request him to stop smoking.

Towards the end of our meal, there were another 2 foreign workers came by and started scratching the old paint away from the wall, while we were having our food 2 steps away. I seriously think the person who run this restaurant has gone out of his mind.

The food is average, ice kacang tasteless. The price is above average. Plus, we had a very unpleasant dinning experience in Escobar. Choose other...

We had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner, and each visit was excellent. There is plenty of seating available, and during dinner we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset, which added to the overall atmosphere.

The menu is diverse and offered something for everyone at the table, with each dish being thoroughly enjoyed. The service was attentive, professional, and caring, making us feel well looked after.

Both times, the food was of high quality and left us very satisfied. Guests can choose to sit outside on the covered terrace, where ample fans ensure a pleasant dining experience even in warmer weather. For those who prefer an even cooler setting, the indoor seating area is air-conditioned.
