Went to Damai Central 4 days ago with my nieces and nephews, since the kids and I was craving for a swim. I was surprised to see that there was a sign from the resort that seems to indicate that the beach at their sides were reserve only for those who stay at their resort. Unless I got it wrong and the sign was only to inform those who came to visit the beach sides to not climb upward to the rooms area. Apart from the confusingly unnecessary invisible 'beach boundary' between the resort and Damai Central, I'd say we had a lovely time. There was a lot of people, but not to the extend of overcrowding. Saw some familiar faces, since this is Kuching. It started to get windy at some point and that wind brought the dark cloud onto the beach area. That was our cue to gather our stuff and go back to our car, and we are lucky to reach our car just right before it rains. Overall, a wonderful evening...

Read moreDamai Beach is honestly a pretty romantic spot. It takes about an hour to drive from Kuching, and I really really enjoyed the ride—such a beautiful view all the way with green hills and blue sea 🌿🌊 peaceful and calming. There's no entrance fee which is a plus, and while the beach is lovely, there’s not much happening unless you come during special occasions.
I came during one of those busy days, so there were quite a lot of people around, including many tourists 😆✨ It was crowded in a fun way but still chill.
There’s a small canteen area that sells food and drinks and the prices are super cheap. But sadly, when I got there, only 2 out of 10 stalls were open, and most food was already gone. So yeah, we only got whatever leftovers were still there. Better come early or bring your own snacks...
