Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands (Gate 1) — Attraction in Selangor

Me and my sister went on an impromptu visit here on a Friday. We reached around 1:50pm and asked if there were any tickets left for the Safari ride. The front counter told us that these rides have to be booked at least 3-days prior. We were bummed out to hear that as we thought we just wasted a 30-mins drive to reach here for nothing. But luckily, another staff member came in and told us they have an extra driver and truck to pick us up for the ride. The ride was amazing and the driver will stop at several locations to give us insight and information on the animals found inside. We learned about burung tempua, saw the hippos, crocodiles (tho we don't see much as the weather is very hot), and took a few wonderful photos of one of the lakes.

During this ride, we also saw a lot of abandoned chalets, houses, restaurants and other types of amenities. It is such a shame and a rundown sight. We later learned that this whole wetland actually belongs to the Dept of Wildlife and attempt was made to make the area a camping site, however with the recent collab with Gamuda, it is up for a facelift soon!

Maybe in another few more years, we will see more improvement and upgrade...

Overall, very happy with the tour on Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands. I have brought my family for the Safari Insta Tour and Boat Cruise. Tour Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Spotted plenty of wildlife animals such as monkey, hippos and big crocs.

For the best experience, you can can go for the tour on 10am for hippo feeding session or 11am for crocodile feeding session (weekend only).

The over the counter ticket price is RM99 for adult and RM55 for children for the Safari Insta Tour and Boat Cruise. That being said, you can enter for free and go to the crocodile and hippo feeding place. Just follow the trail when you enter until you see the a signboard for crocodile and hippo feeding place.

If you wish to to go for camping or picnic, you will need to purchase ticket at the counter. For camping, electricity and toilet facility is provided. However, you will need to get your own items for barbeque, fishing and toiletries.

For now, challete service is currently unavailable. However, there are plans to offer challete services in the next couple of years time.

Dear GL Play, I brought my kids to Paya Indah Discovery without any reservation, as we were driving from JB to KL for a wedding. Since we arrived in KL earlier than expected, we decided to visit GL Paya Indah Discovery.

The staff were extremely kind and accommodating, allowing us entry without a reservation. *Mr. Kamal was our tour guide, and he was absolutely outstanding — patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing details of the entire discovery park. My son asked him many questions, and he answered each one with great patience and depth, not just for the sake of answering but with genuine care and detailed explanations.

Dear GL Play, your team is amazing — from the counter staff to the boat operators, everyone was courteous and professional. In today’s times, when it’s difficult to find and retain good employees, you have built a truly remarkable team. I sincerely hope you recognize and reward them accordingly, because replacing such dedicated individuals would not be easy.
