We went during the Ithaa visiting hours at 11am to 12 noon. Reservation is a must. They offer champagne/ mocktails along with canapés for approx USD 140 per adult, for our child (5 years), it was free. The price is paid for the unique experience ithaa offers rather than the food. We opted for a vegetarian platter. It had a samosa, polenta & tomato, bread, cheese with fig & caper berry and sushi. They tasted great. No separate options are available for kids, they offer the same mocktail & canapés platter for the kids, too. We wanted to do a small photo shoot for our anniversary, and we were accommodated by letting us take it crowd free before the restaurant opened for service. We spoke about this earlier with Conrad, and it wasn't a last-minute thing. Small fishes were swimming around in the surrounding reef. And an occasional sighting of a shark or two. After the new government rule stating not to feed the sharks, there aren't many seen, like in the earlier pictures taken at ithaa.

I visited the restaurant in May 2022. Dining at the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is one of those unique, memorable experiences that stays with you long after the evening ends. I’m someone that loves eating good food in a warm, cozy atmosphere and separately enjoys watching marine life in aquariums and fish tanks, so this was the perfect spot. This is not a budget friendly restaurant. This is for special occasions and bucket list experiences. Reservations are a must. You can reserve as early as 14 days in advance. There are different dining options. I chose the 7 course dinner so I could see the restaurant go from day to night. It was very pretty. Service was excellent. It’s pricey and included a “++” per person so be prepared for the additional taxes. Alcohol is not included. Arrive on time for the pre-dinner intro and drink they serve. Overall, this is an amazing experience. I highly recommend.

Having heard mixed reviews, we opted for the $85/pp Cocktail Hour. Our amazing concierge Yaeesh booked it for us on our 3rd day. The visit was a one hour exploration which including time for photos, enjoying the view, a drink and an appetizer. The experience was breathtaking. The food wasn’t plentiful but we didn’t come with that expectation. We arrived at 11:15 am and was able to enjoy our 45 minutes. We were 1 of 3 couples and that afforded us time still to take photos. Most guests left about 10 minutes until allowing us time to have the space solely to ourselves. Seriously, you can not, or should not, step foot on this property and not visit this venue. The photos alone are memorable. The space isn’t big. The service was phenomenal and not overbearing. Thank you to our server who took a few shots for us. She’s so awesome. I hope you find this review helpful. If so, give me a thumbs up.

A unique underwater dining setting, apparently it was the first in the Maldives and maybe one of the first in the world? We decided to spend the money because it's an experience, but objectively it's very expensive. They do a visiting hour, lunch, or dinner. Visiting hour provides some very tasty (but very small) canapes and a glass of bubbly (no other options), and gives you free-form carte-blanche to enjoy the views and take pictures. The daytime (natural) lighting seems like it would be superior to night, so keep that in mind if photos are the goal. The space is smaller than it looks, but not cramped. Visiting hour was set for 6 couples but there were only 7 people total during our visit. Even without a full room, the prime photo spots will be occupied, but there's plenty of available angles. Definitely an experience.
