Haleem is probably one of the worst owners of a business i have worked with in any country. Been all over the world diving and his own ego prevents him from admitting his own mistakes and instead chooses to blame shift his own mistakes onto anyone and everyone around him. My mom and i did 4 days of diving. On the first day my mom dove. We expressly communicated that we wanted easy dives for her as she is getting older. She is certified and has done 170+ dives in her life time. But she just wants easy dives as she is getting older. Instead of being willing to listen to customers and communicated needs. Haleem the owner ignored our requests and instead removed a dive master who insisted on easy dives for the day and put another dive master who would just obey what he wanted. This resulted in the current sweeping us into one of the hardest drift dives in the maldives on my moms first dive. Horribly unsafe. Haleem (the owner) ignored customer request and placed my mom in an unsafe dive. The crew he had working were great and they pivoted on the next dive and took us to safe easy dives after. Which was great for my mom. Despite the boat crew being upset about the owners change of stops. In another situation my mom communicated a request to have a dive master trainee she felt safe with come on a full day dive trip. Instead of listening to his customer haleem, for 20 minute yelled and berated my mother in front of 10 people (customers and dive masters) because she was asking a request. After my mom made it clear she was not having any of that treatment from any man. She left the dive shop. Come to find out, that female dive master student got yelled at for an hour by haleem, kicked her out of his dive shop, refused to finish her last 6 dives for her dive master certification and threatened her life. All for doing a good job and making customers feel safe. On the last day on the island i told haleem we were cxl the full day dive trip purely for yelling at my mom (the customer). He was furious. I also refused to pay for the one dive he put my mom in an unsafe dive. Instead of recognizing his mistakes and taking ownership. He instead became aggressive. Grabbed a woman's arm as she was walking up stairs and he called the island police over 70 bucks.this owner has no respect for customers, western culture, customer service or just respecting women in general. AVOID this dive center. It has been reported to PADI. Almost all his staff quit in one day cause of his aggressive behavior. Go dive with FENA another dive shop on the island. Did a single dive with them in the last day and they were awesome. The owner also owns the boat bar and it was a much better experience. Also, please be aware the comment left below by the dive center is not the owner. His english isn’t good enough to create a response like this below. Probably automated. Also, a majority of review on this dive shop are fake reviews or locals the dive shop owner has paid to write a good review. Just be aware, this is not a safe dive shop and until the owner replaces himself with someone else to run the dive shop. He will continue to belittle and mistreat customers that walk...
Read moreSince this was to be my first diving adventure and my health is at stake, I chose rather carefully. Sea Star was recommended to me by a friend. From the very beginning, very fast and professional contact via Whatsapp and phone, both the owner and both instructors I met speak perfect English. The day before the dive there was a selection of equipment and completion of a medical questionnaire, a serious approach to the subject of medical contraindications. On the day of the dive at the beginning the theoretical part: a thorough explanation of safety rules, equipment, what works and why. Then the first dive close to shore to get familiar with the equipment and practice basic maneuvers. It wasn't until the instructor was sure I could handle it that we went out into the ocean and went down into the water. The instructor explained everything slowly and carefully, was very patient, I felt taken care of and safe all the time. On top of that, all the time incredibly friendly, relaxed atmosphere, you could joke, the second instructor all the time gave advice and made sure everything was right. At first I had problems through my ears to go below a certain depth, the instructor did everything to allow me to go lower, there was no rush. At the end I was able to enjoy the underwater views. In summary: very professional approach, plenty of time and zero rushing, theoretical and practical part super explained, equipment seemed new and of good quality. I wish I had decided sooner, I discovered a new hobby thanks to them and will definitely be back. I recommend if someone wants to start the adventure in diving and already in the...
Read moreWe went for 2 dives with this fantastic diving club. We are a family of 4 (2 parents who are experienced divers and 2 children who are relatively new divers 14 and 18 years old). This place is truly amazing for several reasons.... From the beginning to the end everything was super professional and safe. It was clear that all staff is well trained and cared for the safety of their divers. Raul, our instructor made an effort to verify that everyone understands everything and that the instructions are clear. The communication was fantastic using WhatsApp at the beginning and there was a tremendous effort to help us overcome any difficulty we had in order to make it possible for us to come diving. The most amazing thing was that they agreed to pick us up from a nearby island and made sure we will have all the needed equipment already on the boat that took us diving. The dive sights were fantastic. The first was an easy to dive spot where we saw turtles and sharks. After verifying that our diving skills our fine the second dive was in an absolutely amazing spot (the aquarium) where we saw so many cool things that sometime you couldn't decide what to look at... BUT it was more that the spot itself. Raul really cared and wanted us to have a great dive. He kept looking and pointing towards cool things while making sure we are all safe. The staff on the boat is also super amazing. Really helpful and making sure they help whenever they can, even when you did not even know you needed help :)
So.. if you get a chance - do not miss the amazing experience this diving club...
