Moments from the Maldives ❤️ We will forever be dreaming of this paradise 🌴 We visited the local island of Thulusdhoo and the resort on Koodoo Island. Both had incredible clear blue water, white sandy beaches, loads of marine life and amazing food 😊 We already can’t wait to go back one day! ☀️ Would you visit? 🏝️ #luxresorts #beautifulresorts #secretsresorts #luxurytravels #beachdestination #vacationdestination #beachresorts #turqoisewater #maldivesparadise #ilovemaldives #maldivesinsider #travelmaldives #paradiseislandresortmaldives #maldivesbeachresort #maldivesresort #crystalwater #islandgetaway #amazingdestinations #traveldreams #luxuryworldtraveler #worldsecretplaces #worldbestplaces #bestplacesintheworld #amazingplacesintheworld #placesoftheworld #bestworldplaces #beautifulplacesintheworld

We had five nights on this sweet little island. It’s fair to say we just about enjoyed ourselves. On the whole we were saved by two trips to the boat bar and sand bank,$30 each. The sand bank at sunset is exceptional. If you can keep the plastic waste to the back of your mind as it’s becoming more and more frequent. You can get a trip there from the bikini beach area, there’s a little hut. There are snorkelling and Ray trips available of course along with fishing trips but after that your a little bit stuck. It’s not all that geared up for tourists but the few westerners that have set up guest houses and restaurants make it pleasurable enough. There is a lot of community feel about the place in this small charming Maldivian town. But it’s not geared up for tourists yet. The bikini beach is very small and you do feel like a sardine at times and makes you feel a little trapped. The fact that there’s nothing to take the edge off at the end of the day or wallow a little in the holiday vibe is a big problem (for me) no alcohol really does put a fly in the ointment. But that’s easily rectified with a trip to the boat bar IF YOU CAN FIND four people to share the boat otherwise they won’t go, and you’ll have to pay the difference. This is an example of how backward they are when it comes to tourism, or the little things. The shariah practice is brilliant, it’s wonderful to hear the call to prayer and the very tranquil respect the religion receives from tourists.

There are loads of Italian people as well which makes for a nice chance to learn some beautiful European language! But yes I wouldn’t go again, it’s just too dull and drains your pocket if you simply want to snorkel, dive or day trip somewhere. Below is a picture that sums up the island. A small plastic island...

I haven't visited many islands (only Male, Hulhumale and Huraa), but I can say I enjoyed very much my 2 week stay in Thulusdhoo. The Bikini Beach is large and usually pretty clean, has natural shaded areas, has swimming spots with calm waters, snorkeling spots with lots of fish and it was not crowded in January 2025, when I visited. There's a pier at the end of the Bikini Beach where you can spot fish and turtles in the morning and sting/manta rays and sharks in the evening, just amazing! There are colorful parrots, the Cokes Island with huge Hermit Crabs at night and sometimes, if you are lucky, there is bioluminescent plankton on the beach. There's the Sunset Beach with a small sandbank and a good place to jog in the uninhabited area of the island. This uninhabited part tends to be dirtier with lots of construction debris, but the touristic area is clean. Boat trips for snorkel tend to be pricier than on other islands (40 dollars for turtle and sandbank, 75 for nurse shark and coral garden). Overall, a chill and...

Great week. From mid April the weather was so pleasant (even when thunder and lightning became a beautiful way to watch the night sky) The days are great for snorkeling walking around the island, relaxing by the beach and if your excitement doesn't stop there you can hire a boat and go to the outer reef and enjoy some scuba diving. Hotels, houses or just a flat can be rented on the island, and will make your days as pleasant as a relaxing day...
