San Blas Beach is a beautiful, secluded beach located on the west coast of Gozo. It is known for its clear turquoise waters, soft reddish sand, and dramatic cliffs. The beach is not easily accessible, which helps to keep it relatively quiet and uncrowded.

To reach San Blas Beach, you will need to hike down a steep hill. The hike is about 10 minutes long and can be challenging, especially if you are carrying anything heavy. However, the views from the top of the hill are amazing, and the feeling of reaching the beach is well worth the effort.

Once you are at the beach, you will find that it is small and secluded. There is no lifeguard on duty, so it is important to be aware of the risks of swimming in the open sea. However, the water is generally calm and safe for swimming.

There are no facilities at San Blas Beach, so you will need to bring your own food and water. There is a small bar located at the top of the hill, but it is only open during the summer months.

Overall, San Blas Beach is a beautiful and unique beach that is worth visiting. However, it is important to be aware of the challenges involved in accessing the beach before you go.

Here are some pros and cons of San Blas Beach:

Pros:

Beautiful scenery Clear turquoise waters Soft reddish sand Secluded and quiet No crowds Amazing views from the top of the hill

Cons:

Steep hike down to the beach No lifeguard on duty No facilities (bring your own food and water) Can be crowded in the summer months.

If you are looking for a beautiful, secluded beach with stunning views, then San Blas Beach is a great option. However, if you are looking for a beach with easy access, facilities, and a lifeguard on duty, then you may want to consider...

Quiet, hard to get to, unpopulated, almost untouched by man, sandy and rocky at the same time, close to crystal clear waters, and relaxing. What else could a beach offer. This hidden gem of Gozo is another beach that in my opinion and for its own sake should be left hard to reach. One can go there and park their car on top of the steep and long slope that leads to it from Nadur. Have a pleasant and naturally beautiful walk down to the beach, enjoy a couple of hours of swimming and relaxation, then be prepared for the difficult and most intensive leg workout you will do on your holiday in Gozo as the trek back to your car will be one you will be dreading. My advice is to travel light when going to this bay as you will have to carry all your luggage with you up the steepest hill in Gozo that I have ever come across. On the bright side for all those people who do not want to or cannot make the trip back up, there is a bar at the bottom that offers a quadbike trip back up for only two...

San Blas is a lovely little sandy bay. Not easily accessed on foot, but there is a jeep shuttle that takes people up and down this steep descent for 2 euros. Very much worth it especially for the uphill climb. The choice is you can leave your car at the very top before you take the road down and then the jeep takes you all the way down to the sand, or you can try and drive down to the top of the steep descent and pick up the jeep from there. With the second option you need to be aware that parking is very minimal at the top of this descent. As there is a bell system for the jeep to know you are waiting at the top of the road in option one, where you can park the car, this is by far the better option. Cost is maybe one extra euro per person. The beach is...

Although a picturesque natural beach, San Blas is very difficult to access and also to get back to the car as there is a very steep, very inclined road or path. Take plenty of water, keep hydrated, and have small breaks to catch breath to make it back to the top. Good luck. Otherwise, there is a beach which is littered by stones, so walking along or trying to get into the sea is very tricky, to say the least. There is only one restaurant on the beach and a single mobile toilet. Again, it could be nice for views and photos, but our experience was sour due to fatigue, while we didn't manage to enjoy the rocky beach.

Be aware to check if the tie is low or high cause this will definitely change your experience since the beach is super super super small. I went to this beach on May, so the water was quite calm, no waves. The small portion of sand was covered in sea weed, so we couldn’t sit down there. We walked further more and set in a big white rock that was more comfortable. The hill you have to walk to access the beach is pretty tough so I wouldn’t recommend for elderlies. Comparing this beach with Rambla, I would recommend Rambla, unless if you are an adventure and like private spots with no people.

The once so beautiful beach of San Blas was gone when we were there. Seaweed had taken over the beach completely and you had to walk over rotting seaweed to get down to the water. They really should take care of the place! Hire someone to clear the place! And boats!!! Everywhere! Nothing to decide swimmers from the boats. I drove under and came up almost in the prop from a boat with people who were driving their boat straight up the beach! Fix these things! Boats and seaweed, and the beach will come back to its former glory. Once the best and most picturesque beach on Gozo.
