San Blas Beach is a beautiful, secluded beach located on the west coast of Gozo. It is known for its clear turquoise waters, soft reddish sand, and dramatic cliffs. The beach is not easily accessible, which helps to keep it relatively quiet and uncrowded.
To reach San Blas Beach, you will need to hike down a steep hill. The hike is about 10 minutes long and can be challenging, especially if you are carrying anything heavy. However, the views from the top of the hill are amazing, and the feeling of reaching the beach is well worth the effort.
Once you are at the beach, you will find that it is small and secluded. There is no lifeguard on duty, so it is important to be aware of the risks of swimming in the open sea. However, the water is generally calm and safe for swimming.
There are no facilities at San Blas Beach, so you will need to bring your own food and water. There is a small bar located at the top of the hill, but it is only open during the summer months.
Overall, San Blas Beach is a beautiful and unique beach that is worth visiting. However, it is important to be aware of the challenges involved in accessing the beach before you go.

Read moreQuiet, hard to get to, unpopulated, almost untouched by man, sandy and rocky at the same time, close to crystal clear waters, and relaxing. What else could a beach offer. This hidden gem of Gozo is another beach that in my opinion and for its own sake should be left hard to reach. One can go there and park their car on top of the steep and long slope that leads to it from Nadur. Have a pleasant and naturally beautiful walk down to the beach, enjoy a couple of hours of swimming and relaxation, then be prepared for the difficult and most intensive leg workout you will do on your holiday in Gozo as the trek back to your car will be one you will be dreading. My advice is to travel light when going to this bay as you will have to carry all your luggage with you up the steepest hill in Gozo that I have ever come across. On the bright side for all those people who do not want to or cannot make the trip back up, there is a bar at the bottom that offers a quadbike trip back up for only two...
Read moreSan Blas is a lovely little sandy bay. Not easily accessed on foot, but there is a jeep shuttle that takes people up and down this steep descent for 2 euros. Very much worth it especially for the uphill climb. The choice is you can leave your car at the very top before you take the road down and then the jeep takes you all the way down to the sand, or you can try and drive down to the top of the steep descent and pick up the jeep from there. With the second option you need to be aware that parking is very minimal at the top of this descent. As there is a bell system for the jeep to know you are waiting at the top of the road in option one, where you can park the car, this is by far the better option. Cost is maybe one extra euro per person. The beach is...
