Breathtaking place! San Blas Tower, also known as ‘it-Torri ta’ Isopu’, is situated on the cliff between San Blas and Dahlet Qorrot. It was built in 1667 during the reign of Grandmaster Nicholas Cottoner at the expense of the Universita of Gozo. The guns of this Tower opened fire on the French fleet in June 1798, a distinction which no other Tower can claim!

Tiny, but Brilliant baroque watch tower over looking the Mediterranean. Tricky to find, follow road till it ends, take the lower, not obvious path and when that ends keep going. Apparently, it's only open on the first three Sundays of each month.

Nice place for a dog walk. Some of the area has been landscaped. A dog agility course has just been added. Very open space but difficult to know when you’ve actually arrived unless you’re familiar with the area

Great to see, however road signs don't help!! And the rough road to get there..... well we wanted to see the Sopu watchtower, so worth all the effort!! 😊

La Torre Sopu, conosciuta anche come Torre Isopu, Torre San Blas o Torre Nuova, è una piccola torre di avvistamento situata sulla scogliera tra San Blas e Daħlet Qorrot a Nadur, Gozo, Malta. La Torre Isopu è stata l'ultima torre di avvistamento costruita a Malta, a parte i tour-reduit del 18° secolo. Sotto la Torre si trova la Laguna blu . Meravigliosa ❤️

Zum Turm führt anfangs ein außermaltesisch guter Weg, vorbei an einer aufwendig angelegten "Grünanlage". Das letzte Stück ist unbefestigte Natur, bitte nicht die karge Vegetation zertreten. Der Eingang ist natürlich verschlossen.

Sopu Tower, also known as Isopu Tower, San Blas Tower or Torre Nuova, is a small watchtower situated on the cliff between San Blas and Daħlet Qorrot in Nadur, Gozo, Malta. Isopu Tower was the last watchtower to be built in Malta, apart from the tour-reduits of the 18th century.
