This was my fourth stay at this property in the last three years. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable. Back in late 2011 and early 2012 they did not yet have the "mini-store" next to the front desk so this was new for me this year. Back in 2011 and 2012 the breakfast bar had a much more varied menu and you could order eggs to order included in the breakfast bar. Now they have just some fruit, yogurt, and the same mexican style eggs at least four times a week with scrambled eggs with ham the other three times. One thing which really concerned me is the fact that the "mini-store" is on a "cash only" basis. I came in late one afternoon after a very long workday. I wanted a can of grapefruit soda and was told it was 15 pesos. No problem, charge it to the room I said. The nice lady at the desk informed me that it was not possible and that it was cash only. Now, for the unexperienced traveler to Torreon this might not be an inconvenience but there is NO ATM(Cajero) inside the hotel lobby. One has to go outside and walk to the bank about a block west of the hotel to get cash from the ATM. These days that is not a good idea in Torreon, you run the highly probable risk of getting assaulted and robbed. I value my safety a lot more than 15 pesos for a can of soda. So much for having the "convenience" of having a "mini-store" if you cannot charge your items to your room! Other than that, the staff is very friendly and professional and I would stay in this property again. Please bring back the eggs to order!! One gets tired of scrambled or spicy eggs...
Read moreDuring one of the days of my stay, I was in the room when the room was being cleaned and I was shocked at how the bathroom was cleaned. There was never a cleaning solution, it was only cleaned with water. The rag that was used to clean the toilet was used to clean the sink and area around it. Only water was used and a same dirty rag. I told the lady not to do that that my toothbrush touched that surface. She proceeded to use the had towels and cleaned the floor around the toiled and behind it. The rest of the floor was not cleaned. They should have a mop and STOP using the towels! Additionally, I encountered a gentlemen in the hallway who was delivering the towels and the towels were placed on the suitcase cart, which was dirty, the towels were on the dirty carpet. I have used the same cart for my suitcases in the past. The room looked clean, but knowing what I saw, makes one think. Also during my stay, the carpet was never vacuumed. It was such a disappointment in the area of...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is excellent. The breakfast options are very limited. The ice dispenser was missing from the 2nd floor and had to go to the 4th floor to get ice. One of those times, there was no ice at all and had to go to the front desk to request some. One time we tried to use the stairs to go to the underground parking since there were a lot of people using the elevators and to our surprise, the emergency exits were bolted shut to the top of the door frame. To get out we had to go upstairs again and exit through the lobby. I am glad there was not an emergency during our stay, because if there was a fire and people try to get out through the stairs, they would have been trapped. Carpets on the second floor are kind of old. Other than that, excellent staff, excellent...
