Museo Ex Hacienda San Gabriel de Barrera — Attraction in Guanajuato

🌏I used to live in GTO and had the pleasure of touring Hacienda Barrera several times and I have photographed many beautiful weddings at the Hacienda over the years!

🌿This beautiful vintage Hacienda is absolutely SENSATIONAL. It’s the perfect backdrop for a casual walk, photography, hosting an event, a Weddings, quinceanera or...just being in the moment to appreciate the glory and splendor or MEXICO! (AHHH y Viva Mexico!🌹)

The gardens are very well taken care of and everything is absolutely perfect....and stunning to look at! I almost tripped a few times because there are so many things to look at that are breathtakingly and jaw dropping INCREDIBLE. It's hard to look at everything at one time. true....jajaja!

We took a tour inside the home to discover its history. Absolutely stunning! WOW!

If you appreciate architecture, floral, and the history of Mexico I highly recommend spending the entire day here there is so much to see. Or … if you’re looking for something unique to do, that is extremely relaxing.... I recommend touring the gardens with headphones on and enjoying your favorite relaxing music along your stroll. ( I Listened to Oscar De a Teja Leon, Vicente Ferńandez, The Mariachi Divas, Willie Colón, and Andrè Andreo!!!! AHHHH RICO BAYBY PURE HEAVEN! 🌏

Excelente lugar, muy tranquilo, fui un sábado y durante todo el día hubo muy poca gente, perfecto para ir con la pareja o la familia, partes de la hacienda se rentan para eventos aunque desconozco los precios, muy económico, el costo es de 35 pesos por persona y realmente vale la pena.

This is a beautiful place in México and not very common, I lived 3 years in Guanajuato and never noticed about this place, I went on a weekend and it was really quiet and peacefully, very few people, there is a hotel with same name very close to it so it would make a perfect weekend with your loved one, some areas are used for events during the weekends so you might find a few chairs and tables when you go, but anyway place is so big that it won't bother you that much, and it's really cheap too, like 1.5usd entrance tickets, a must do...

As beautiful as the city of Guanajuato is, it is surrounded by tourist traps of all sorts, including bogus or crappy museums (made for the sake of sucking every last penny or peso out of the inadvertent tourist) for every taste. San Gabriel the Barrera is among the honourable exceptions. Located outside the downtown area of the city, it's easy to miss it, yet worth it. The house of the hacienda has been rehabilitated in proper fashion & they offer free guided tours (you need to tip the guide), our guide was very knowledgeable & spoke very decent English, making the tour inside the house very enjoyable for my Canadian friend. After that you can feel free to wander in the gardens which are beautiful & well kept. You can buy a bottle of wine at the café in the museum...
