This historic fort, now a museum, is right next to the cruise ship terminal so its easy to visit this star shaped fort (with a moat and portcullis). It is full of cannon, excavations showing original foundations, and cultural exhibits representing both Spanish and Japanese early travelers and influences on the Mexican culture. Acudí al museo el pasado 12 de julio por la tarde, una hora antes de que cerrara. Yo ya había visitado el lugar pero llevé a mi hijo a que lo conociera. De las 9 salas que componen el sitio solo las primeras estaban abiertas por lo que el lugar pierde mucho el atractivo didáctico para conocer la importancia del puerto de Acapulco a través de su historia. De todos modos aprovechamos la parte superior del fuerte para admirar la vista de la bahía desde allí. El problema fue que no advertimos que habían dado las 17 horas, cuando cierra el museo y nadie del personal del sitio paso a revisar las instalaciones como se debe de hacer rutinaria y protocolariamente antes de cerrar cualquier edificio o zona arqueológica del INAH abierto al público. Bajamos a la puerta principal alrededor de las 17:07 y para entonces ya estaba cerrado el portón principal POR FUERA. Afortunadamente acerté a llamar al 911 donde amablemente localizaron a personal del instituto. Después de 20 minutos nos abrieron, lo que nos salvó de haber quedado encerrados por más de doce horas. RUEGO ENCARECIDAMENTE A LAS AUTORIDADES DE INAH GUERRERO TOMEN MEDIDAS AL RESPECTO RECORDANDOLES AL PERSONAL DEL MUSEO SUS RESPONSABILIDADES. Mi historia entra en la anécdota pero puede terminar mal si se hubiese tratado de turistas no hispanohablantes o que no contaran con la forma de reportar el incidente. POR FAVOR TENGAN...
