Once on the sand, you can walk along the beach to swim in front of Punta Negra hotel. The wall of the hotel provides good shade until about 1pm. In this spot, there are rocks under the water that form a natural harbor and keep the water calm from morning until 2:30pm or later. There are many schools of small fish and tropical fish around the rocks. The beach is very kid-friendly with an extended shallow area.
