Nestled in a lush valley along the Pacific Ocean, Puerto Vallarta is an exciting destination that combines breathtaking scenery with a vibrant culture. From its gorgeous beaches and stunning sunsets to its delicious cuisine and exciting nightlife, Puerto Vallarta has something for everyone. Nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Puerto Vallarta is an exceptional tourism destination in Mexico. It stands out among other tourist spots due to its combination of hilly landscapes and breathtaking beaches, with plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and more. One of the many fun facts about Puerto Vallarta is that there’s more than just sitting on the sand in...

A beautiful, calm beach with fine sand and crystal clear water in the morning, 9-2pm. You access it via steep stairs from the bus stop. Once on the sand, you can walk along the beach to swim in front of Punta Negra hotel. The wall of the hotel provides good shade until about 1pm. In this spot, there are rocks under the water that form a natural harbor and keep the water calm from morning until 2:30pm or later. There are many schools of small fish and tropical fish around the rocks. The beach is very kid-friendly with an extended shallow area. There are public bathrooms, showers and changing rooms at Las Palmas beach, about an eight minute walk south along the shore. 10 pesos for the bathroom, 10 for the showers and 5 pesos for the...

Clear water. Nice views of the shoreline hotels and of the rest of the coast. Food vendors. Waves were not too rough. Decent for the little kids, not as much shallow areas as other beaches. You can rent tables with umbrellas. Parking a little hard to find. The way down to the beach is a little dangerous. The high concrete stairway down to the beach has loose protective fencing one side. The beach is worth the small hike down. There is also a river which dumps into the ocean at this beach it's small but still pretty cool. You can see two small islands farther down the coast which you can tour called Isla Corral or...

This beach is less busy than Playa Palmares, which I prefer! You can park on the side of the road and you then have to walk down a steep gravel hill to access the beach. The water is clean, clear, and turquoise. LOTS of high waves so may not be easy to swim in for young children. A few rocks in the water as well. A small amount of hotels along the shoreline (maybe 3) so not much hotel guest traffic. Barely any vendors so unfortunately, no umbrella or chair rentals.
